The August 2006 and January 2007 Indicorps fellows met in Panchgani, at the beautiful training center of Initiatives of Change.   This was the third workshop for the 2006 class and the first workshop for the January 2007 class. Indicorps’ May workshops marked significant milestones in Indicorps history. For the first week of May, the Initiatives of Change team hosted the Indicorps family at their Asia Plateau center in Panchgani, Maharastra. For the first time, Indicorps brought together its two concurrent Fellowship classes, allowing them to meet, share and develop relationships as each group continues at a different stage in the process.

In addition, the entire team was touched by the warm hospitality and inspiring ethos of all of the committed individuals of Initiatives of Change group. Originating as an attempt to build a 'hate-free, fear-free, greed-free world,' Initiatives of Change (IofC), previously known as the Oxford Group and Moral Re-Armament, is a non-traditional network of good. The many life-long volunteers and eager young interns from around the world shared their stories of change throughout the course of the workshop, brining new energy and perspectives to our sessions and experiences.

Throughout the workshop, Fellows engaged in activities and sessions such as role plays on governance challenges in India, team games that promoted communication and helped them understand economic and market processes, examine macro level challenges through policy analysis and much more. Fellows visited Mapro Farms, a locally-driven produce processing company that is entrepreneurial in spirit and generously allowed our Fellows to indulge in their delicious fresh strawberries, shared stories with several powerful speakers who have been pioneers in making change for women, in agriculture and for youth.

If you have come to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.
