New Era - New Office

June 15th, 2007

Indicorps is growing and as we increase our scope, we’re also increasing our space. We inaugurated the new Volunteer Ahmedabad office, above our current location on Ashram Road in Ahmedabad, last week. The new office will house the headquarters of our domestic volunteering initiative, a conference and meeting room and additional space for staff to utilize.

Since the opening, the new office has been booming with activity. VA volunteers are excited to get their own space, and are working to decorate it with slogans, drawings and information about volunteer opportunities. We have already christened the meeting rooms with the INSPIRE workshop as well as new staff orientation.

Indicorps is in the midst of orienting 4 new staff members on our operations, philosophy, mission, history, and culture. Staff orientation is upstairs at the newly rented and renovated portion of the Indicorps office in Ahmedabad. The new staff members present are Ketki Sheth ‘06 (joining the Fellowship Team), Falgunni Sachdev (Program Manager - Leadership), Sunil Kurup (Manager - Communications), and Shishir Sawant (joining the Project Development Team).

New Website Launched

June 10th, 2007

As part of Indicorps’ efforts to keep with the pace of technological change and leverage the web to encourage young people from around the world to do what it takes to affect change, we have revamped our websites. The Indicorps news site (news.indicorps.org) now includes up-to-date information from India, a blog, flash video, and insight into Indicorps’ programs. Sunil Kurup, a new staff member, is in charge of managing Indicorps’ communications and plans to keep the information on this site fresh.

If you have come to help me, you are wasting your time. But if you have come because your liberation is bound up with mine, then let us work together.
